Love

I came across this article today and wanted to share it. Not much really to say.
HERE

Reminds me of The Notebook!

Allie: Do you think that our love can create miracles?

Noah: Yes I do. That's what brings you back to me each time.

Allie: Do you think our love can take us away together?

Noah: I think our love can do anything we want it to.

** I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough. ~The Notebook
**the best love is the kind that weakens the soul, and makes us reach for more, puts pints of fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds ... ~The Notebook

Everything Fall

Fall Is hands down my favorite time of the year, The colors, the crisp air after the extreme heat of summer, the smells, bonfires, cornmazes, hayrides, haunted parks, there isnt anything I dont like about this time of the year! Not to mention my birthday happens to be in October, as does Amaya's!! We have been decorated for fall since the beginning of September...a little premature, I can't help it!! Im am always looking for fun fall crafts and recipes. Lastnight, Amaya wanted breakfast for dinner, or, Brinner. So I threw together a french toast recipe i saw a while back and it was a hit!!! So I thought I would share. Amaya can be pretty picky when it comes to eating and the fact that she was done her first piece in less than 3 minutes and already asking for seconds, I knew it had to be good... so here is my recipe for Pumpkin Pie french toast!! I rarely measure, I pretty much throw things together to taste (or smell for some recipes...this one being one of them).
  • 3/4C pumpkin puree (make your own or from a can)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2C milk
  • 1-2Tbs pumpkin pie spice (make your own or buy already made)
  • Splash of vanilla
  • texas toast (the thick kind, best for french toast)
                              homemade pumpkin pie spice
                                           4tsp cinnamon
                                           2tsp ginger
                                           1tsp cloves
                                           1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

showing some Love

I came across this list while browsing my newest obesession love, stumblupon(i'll post about this site another day!) and I wanted to pass it along!!!

40 simple ways to show your child love:
  1. Take them to a movie they want to see.
  2. Go on a treasure hunt (collect all the loose change around the house/car) together and then make a trip to the arcade with your findings.
  3. Take a long nature walk together, at their pace. Let them lead the conversation.
  4. Find qualities about them that you genuinely love, and compliment them in front of others.
  5. Frame a photo of the two of you, and display it in their room.
  6. Put a few Hershey’s Hugs in one of their coat pockets, and Kisses in the other.
  7. Play a game with them.
  8. Let them win.
  9. Make bath time special. Add lots of bubbles, colored soaps, maybe you could purchase a new tub toy or let them play with things found around the house. I let my kids play with things like colanders and funnels from the kitchen—they love it. Don’t forget to warm the towel!
  10. Send them a handmade card in the mail with a coupon to go get ice cream with you.
  11. Gather all the home movies that feature them as the “star” and have a movie night complete with popcorn and treats.
  12. Using blankets and chairs, or a card table, build a clubhouse together and have a picnic inside.
  13. Read “I love you” books together.
  14. Let them stay up past their bedtime with you and watch cartoon classics together.
  15. Do a chore that is normally reserved for them.
  16. Tuck an encouraging note inside their lunchbox.
  17. Give them your full attention.
  18. Tell them some of the ways they make you happy.
  19. Make them laugh.
  20. Laugh with them.
  21. Make their favorite treat to welcome them home from school with.
  22. Show them your joy when they arrive.
  23. Ask for hugs and kisses.
  24. Listen, and let them make their own decisions whenever possible.
  25. Make them a coupon book filled with things they’d enjoy doing, or things they’d like to get out of doing.
  26. Take a day off from everything: work, household duties, technology, etc. and focus entirely on them.
  27. Cook together
  28. Write them a poem using the initials of their name.
  29. Decorate their room for no reason.
  30. Create a sign that lavishes them with praise.
  31. Kidnap them from school and take them out for lunch.
  32. Make home a fun place to be.
  33. Make a treasure box from an old shoe box, fill it with “gold” (chocolate coins) and make an official looking treasure map with clues for them to locate the hidden treasure with.
  34. Go to the store and let them pick out all the ingredients to make banana splits. Make and eat them together.
  35. Wrap up in a warm blanket together and take turns making up stories to tell each other.
  36. Make a list of things you love about them and put it on their pillow before bedtime.
  37. Talk about what they did in their day at dinnertime.
  38. Sit down together and write a list of fun activities to do in a day. Write each idea on small slips of paper, roll up the papers and stick them inside balloons. Blow up all the balloons and then pop one balloon at a time until you’ve completed all the activities.
  39. Play back rub/tickle games—ie; Spider crawling up your back…
  40. Make a CD with all their favorite tunes and have a dance party.

My Amaya

With Amaya's birthday fast approaching, she has gone from every 2 or 3 days of reminding me she is going to be 8 soon, to everyday, 501928.5 times a day! This past weekend she was talking to me about getting older and I said to her, this time 8 years ago you were still in my belly...to which she matter of factly replied," i was stuck in there before coming out your cha-cha" I don't know where she comes up with some of her termonology.. I've never referred to lady parts as a cha cha.. but she had me laughing, like she always does! The next day after work, I decided to surprise her with a trip to Landis Valley (thank you sister for the membership!!) It's an old time village and museum that shows you life "in the old days" according to Amaya.. One shop she loved was the tin smith...The woman showed us different things we use today and how they have changed. She held up a tin cup with a lid that had a spout coming out the one side, and asked Amaya what she thought it was. Amaya replied she had no idea so she started giving her clues..saying that babies drink out of this to which she relplied," sippy cup??" The woman said "no, before sippy cups, how do babies get their milk?"...and without a beat, Amaya looked at me and said "mom, i cannot say boobs to her!!!!" to which everyone started laughing... I love my Amaya!!! She keeps me on my toes!

What's in your purse!?

I recently was at a store and ran into one of my friends, she had lost her phone and asked me to write down my phone number for her. I reached in my purse (my lifeline) and pulled out a pen, which was attached to my keys, which were attached to my cell phone charger, which were also attached to a tampon (which fell on the floor..HOW EMBARASSING!!!) My friend and I laughed and after stuffing half the contents BACK into my purse, we got on the subject of how the contents of a womans purse are supposed to tell a lot about the owner.....I sure hope this isnt true!

So, here it is, my purse....
 wallet
 keys
 cell phone charger
 advil
7 varieties of chapstick ( I'm addicted, what can I say,   I'm lost if i happen to be without any!)
icarly bobble head (I constantly find random things my daughter threw into my purse, her motto, when in doubt, stick it in moms purse!)
 childrens Benedryl, grape flavor!
 emergency nutrigrain bar...squished.
 hand lotion
opened, and half sucked on lollipop.(apparently my purse serves as a trashcan for my daughter too!)
 hairties
some kind of foreign sticky substance smushed into the lining...
eyeglass cleaning cloth, covered in half eaten lollipop goo
expired coupons (casualties of my attempt at "extreme couponing")
compact powder, mirror broken, powder, long gone...
change..grand total of 39c (i think.....one coin is of questionable denomination...thank you lollipop goo)
 tissues( 1 apparently used...ick!)...

Like I said if a purse tells a lot about the woman owning it, what in the world would mine say?!?!?!
So, what does your purse say about you!?!?
